Has MOBBING increased with the pandemic and working from home?

Here are some of the complaints I've heard recently: "My manager constantly sends emails, writes on WhatsApp morning and evening, I work at night, he constantly asks what I'm doing, if he wasn't ashamed he would install a camera in my house, I feel bad in Zoom meetings, others act as if I don't exist, I can't express myself"

As employees become more physically distant from each other and communication becomes more abstract, there can be breakdowns in communication, suspicion and uncertainty can occur, and some behaviors can be misinterpreted. Some employees may feel excluded or bullied in online meetings.

We should not forget that;

  • Excessive monitoring of the employee's work, constant monitoring in a disturbing way is a MOBBING BEHAVIOR.
  • Assigning impossible work is a MOBBING BEHAVIOR.
  • Not giving a word, interrupting, mocking in Zoom, Skype or any meeting, interview is a MOBBING BEHAVIOR.
  • Not providing or hiding the requested information is a MOBBING BEHAVIOR.
  • Being constantly criticized is a MOBBING BEHAVIOR.

If an employee feels excluded or bullied If so, it doesn't matter whether this behavior occurs in the office or online.

Our home, where we are most comfortable, has become our office with the pandemic. We all need to pay attention to this comfort. We should be extra sensitive and careful about what we say and do in e-mails, messages or online meetings.
