Mobbing - 4 (Bullet Points)

Consequences of Mobbing:

The consequences of mobbing can be grouped as follows: negative effects on the victim, the victim’s family, the organization, and society.

Effects on the Victim:

Stress, anxiety, tension, feeling socially excluded at work, loss of dignity, psychosomatic health complaints, post-traumatic stress disorder, anger, feeling under constant pressure, lack of self-confidence, difficulty in working at the current workplace, increased alcohol and tobacco consumption, hypertension, tachycardia, weight loss, stomach problems, extreme fatigue, migraines, depression, high suicide risk, insomnia...

On the financial side, the victim may face income loss, limited opportunities for promotion, pressure to lose their job or find a new one, which could negatively affect their relationships as well. Family relationships may suffer, resulting in a loss of income and reputation, and may even lead to divorce.

Organizational Consequences:

Decreased productivity and reputation, reduced trust and respect, an organizational climate dominated by fear, hostility, and uncertainty, job dissatisfaction, decreased organizational commitment, employee turnover, increased sick leave and absenteeism, damage to company image, loss of skilled workforce, decline in work quality and overall performance, legal fees and compensation...

Effects on Society:

Health-related expenses due to the victim’s health problems, tendencies towards early retirement, and the increased burden on health and pension insurance can indirectly create negative consequences in society.
